Mr. Carlson concentrates his practice in alcoholic beverage law and has been engaged in that business for twenty-five years. Named General Counsel to the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission in 1986, he served the Commission for four years. In 1990, he joined G. Heileman Brewing Co., Inc. and spent the next ten years serving as Assistant General Counsel to Heileman and then The Stroh Brewery. Mr. Calson entered private practice in 1999 and established his own firm in 2000. He is a member of the bar in Illinois, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
Mr. Carlson practices in all areas of alcoholic beverage law, including product distribution and franchise issues, federal, state, and local trade practice regulation, sales and marketing matters, intellectual property, business and transactional work, governmental compliance, and licensing. He represents clients before all state and local regulatory agencies and the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. He has extensive contacts within the alcoholic beverage industry and regulatory agencies. His clients include suppliers, national distributors, marketers, and mojor retailers of alcoholic beverages.
In addition to alcoholic beverage matters, Mr. Carlson represents clients in intellectual property, business and transactional matters. He serves as General Counsel to several companies.
